I would like to join up if I may. SargentMatt www.urbandead.com/profile.cgi?id=1296882This is my only active character. I played a little last year, but I never could advance far before getting killed. I Have been playing again for a couple of days. I Started in Lerwill Heights and have been hiding out trying to get enough xp to get level 2. I made it down to North Blythville and noticed all the well maintained buildings, a huge improvement over the ruined buildings I had been hiding out in. I got Free Running when I hit level 2, immediately ran into Cleo Maddox and Whisker Biscuit. was blown away by their level. Realized they were probably part of the reason North Blythville is so well maintained. Once I googled Olney Militia and realized that yall have made an actuall community out of this one map square I was hooked. I realized I just had to be a part of something like that.

Many thanks for choosing the Olney Militia. You are now in the vetting procedure. To clarify you are an OM in name only as the OM itself and the citizens of NB will be watching you (creepy as it sounds it's called vetting) By putting OM in your groups is like you declaring you are are wearing our colors or our badge, in other words you are 'us' out there. We do this as a good way to vet potential new members. To become a full member you get vetted by us and then if successful gain access to the board (your registered account remains pending until then). When & if that happens is up to you and what you do.... have a read of what we expect from you in this topic. Please do keep checking back here as we might have other questions or missions for you. This post is your point of contact with us and we do really appreciate your intel posts on the burb and zeds# out there. All the best Couple of Questions Do you have any inactive alts that are members of other groups either zed or human? What role within the OM do you see yourself preforming the best in? What would you find interesting to do if there were no zeds for a time? Do you find using forums an essential part of the UD Game or prefer the in-game approach? What time/zone are you online? p.s May I just say your post is an outstanding introduction and that you have have done your homework! Make sure you follow the instructions for joining found in this topic so your membership is not delayed. We hope that your OM status and living in 'sunny' North Blythville will help you level up fast and experiance a better daily UD game. All the best Jake p.s If you think Cleo's & WhiskerB's levels are good take a look at Healgood's XP

Awww, I am flattered! Tell you what though, this group is the reason I leveled up, its a great choice and they have taught me everything that I know. I joined up at a 3 maybe and just worked my rear off. When you have a great community like this one, and a burb that you care for, you have a reason to do it.
Glad to see you joined and hope to see you vetted soon!

Couple of Questions Do you have any inactive alts that are members of other groups either zed or human?
None at all. I made a character in Monroeville, quickly got killed, then made this guy.
What role within the OM do you see yourself preforming the best in?
I am very much a support type person. At first I will be pretty activily hunting to get leveled up. Once I have the basic skills though I will probably spend as much time maintaining barricades and helping man revive points as anything else. In MMORPG'd I always play a healing/buffing class. Here, the thought of repairing damage to beuildings and reviving people seems like something that would never get old.
What would you find interesting to do if there were no zeds for a time?
Repairing, stocking up, if the area is completely secure, go to surrounding zones for some action before returning.
Do you find using forums an essential part of the UD Game or prefer the in-game approach?
In a game like this, I think you pretty much have to keep organized on the forums.
What time/zone are you online?
I am in the central time zone USA. Basically I can check in all day at work (I'm a network admin so spend most of my day at my computer) I am online most nights from 7pm till about 10:30pm.

Ok, I should hit level 4 in a couple of days. (It took forever to hit level 3, going much faster now that I have pistol training.)
What skill should I get next? I'm trying to decide between body building, construction, advanced pistol training, or shotgun training.
Thoughts?

Personally I would go with construction, you are more useful that way but then you need to find a toolbox.

I found a toolbox (finally) I also found both a generator and fuel while I was searching, which I used to return power to the Dear Street P.D.
Once I spend a couple days stocking up on ammo, I will head wherever I am needed to help repair and barricade buildings.
