Many thanks for choosing the Olney Militia. You are now in the vetting procedure. To clarify you are an OM in name only as the OM itself and the citizens of NB will be watching you (creepy as it sounds it's called vetting)
By putting OM in your groups is like you declaring you are are wearing our colors or our badge, in other words you are 'us' out there. We do this as a good way to vet potential new members.
To become a full member you get vetted by us and then if successful gain access to the board (your registered account remains pending until then). When & if that happens is up to you and what you do.... have a read of what we expect from you in this topic.
Please do keep checking back here as we might have other questions or missions for you. This post is your contact point with us so we also really appreciate your intel posts on the burb status and zeds# out there.
All the best Jake T Weber
RESIST OR SERVE V
Couple of Questions Is this your only UD character or is this an alt? Do you have any alts that are active members of other groups either zed or human? What role within the OM do you see yourself preforming the best in? What would you find interesting to do if there were no zeds for a time? Do you subscribe to using Combat Revives if so would you except it if we asked you to refrain from doing so? Do you find using forums an essential part of the UD Game or prefer the in-game approach? What time/zone are you online?
p.s We prefer that you give your character a description, thanks.

-This is an alt. -My main is named Yocum, and is a part of Special Tactics and Rescue Service. -I see myself mostly as a medical/support person with this alt. -I'd be getting NB as close to pre-outbreak as I could, including barricading everything to VSB+2 and getting generators into all buildings. -I don't like combat revives, though I use that approach with my main only on zeds I recognize from my contacts list. -I like forums for basic coordination and info sharing for things that aren't time critical, but in-game is so much better for keeping things close if they are time critical. -Right now I'm 3 hours ahead of GMT, as I'm in Qatar. However, when I get home, I'll be on US Central time.

Didn't have many AP left, glad I'm gonna be crashing.
Currently in CLASSIFIED. Building's at CLASSIFIED 2 other survivors inside. 1 zed outside.
6 zeds at Male BLVD RP
1 zed outside CLASSIFIED building, CLASSIFIED
CLASSIFIED is lit, no zeds at it
CLASSIFIED is lit again.
CLASSIFIED has 13 zeds inside, none outside.

many thanks for your answers.
RE: you main character Yocum of Special Tactics and Rescue Service Group.
You will have to declare to us that you ~
Understand and will refrain from practising zerging or using alts in the same place and that Nauta & Yocum will lead separate existence with at least 2 burb cushion. This means if Special Tactics and Rescue Service Group where to operate in NB your character Yocum could not participate. Any intel Nauta gleaned from this board or from Yocum's access to Special Tactics and Rescue Service Group is not shared.
Other than that it should be fine. When you say it is your main character would this mean your OM character is less played?
In the OM we don't do combat revives and we would ask that Nauta follows suit.
We also use the forum to communicate more than in-game as it saves APs. As for time critical stuff there are other options that we use but more on that later.
I noticed that you don't have free running skill as of yet, I would advise that is the next skill you purchase to operate well in NB.
All the best out there and please do keep posting your intel as we do like to know what you see & do out there.

Trust me, if Special Tactics And Rescue Service (STARS for short) should come into NB, I won't bring my alt in. I understand zerging all too well, though I don't like the practice.
I'm working on getting Free Running so I can get what I'm needing to properly survive.
I mostly do focus on the other alt, but I use 'main' like the 'pay-to-play' MMORPGs infer main. 'Highest-level and most focused on', which kinda fits for a 22 with every survivor skill but one. I also have made that alt immune to IP limits, though the alt I'm putting up for OM membership is my next most important char.
I don't use information from one source to boost others. When I play a char, I think of it as the char doesn't have access to info that I have from private sources for an alt. *played too much D&D to enjoy metagaming like that*
And, the only way I'd 'combat revive' is if it was an OM member on my contact list anyway, which kinda isn't under the true tactic of 'combat revive'.

CLASSIFIED ransacked, no power, 8 zeds inside, 2 survivors outside CLASSIFIED
Still 3 zeds at CLASSIFIED.
No major changes to anywhere else nearby my current area, trying to rebuild AP.

Understood, but in case that one wishes a revive, or does it while in human form, we've got a pattern of activity to draw upon. That is a fair observation to make ...OK what I am going to do with your intel on this zed is move a copy of it to our current mission as a quote. From now on if you witness anything of note you wish to let us know about then post it here, even Gks as that post is really to let the public know we've collected a bounty. Thanks for your declaration about your other alt. And you are right about 'combat revives' ~ reviving your follow OMs is not what constitutes as a 'combat' revive. see Don't Do Combat Revives topic for what OM considers is a combat revive and why not to do them. Many thanks for your intel report it has now been classified and full copy has been passed on to the OM.

I understand why not to combat revive, and what it is. I don't like using a syringe as a weapon, in case a true friend needs that revive. And, I've seen that combat revive technique turn around and bite me, with my STARS alt having been killed by a PKer (didn't have the intell then) that had been turned into a zed. I can tell you I won't make that mistake again.

Intell update:
Am currently in CLASSIFIED. It's VSB, no lights, 11 other survivors, 2 zeds.
CLASSIFIED and CLASSIFIED are both lit.
In the immediate area of CLASSIFIED, but outside, we have 2 zeds outside CLASSIFIED, 1 outside the CLASSIFIED, 1 at CLASSIFIED, and one at CLASSIFIED.
Those other scientist skills sure look tempting, though I know free running's way too valuable to not have...

I know, but with Free running you can then get into the core of NB where the action is and you will find lots of defenders injured. You will quickly accrue those XPs for the rest of your skill set and expand your remit. I've classified your report and passed on a full copy to the OM & an little message to them to pass your way if injured Thanks for your intel report.

Thanks.
It's that 150 for Free Running when I could get 2 scientist skills for the same cost that hurts and makes my specialty skills look so much better... Feels good to give my willpower that kind of exercise, though.
